About the Fundraising Competition:
As the marketing director at Adamson Ford, I have been nominated to become Ms. Young Hot Professional for Birmingham. The winners will be chosen on June 16th at the Young Hot Birmingham event, presented by YP Birmingham, based on the amount of funds raised for charity by each individual. For the competition, I am raising funds for the Arthritis Foundation in honor of my sister Julia who was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of three.
About Arthritis:
There are more than 140 different forms of arthritis including lupus, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, juvenile arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In Alabama, 1.2 million adults have been doctor-diagnosed with arthritis, and more than 4,500 children.
About Julia:
I have seen first hand how difficult life can be when a child must deal with a chronic illness; my younger sister Julia was diagnoed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of three. It is my hope to be able to help children like my sister through this fundraiser. Thanks to a combination of proper treatment and abundant blessings, my sister is now a healthy and active 23 year old. The funds I raise will go toward the goal of ensuring that other individuals like my sister recieve proper care and treatment for this often misdiagnosed and potentially crippling disease.
Please join me in raising both funds and awareness for those who are afflicted with Arthritis. Thank you for your contribution!
