Kid One Transport and Mardi Gras

As the marketing director here at Adamson, I am often given wonderful opportunities to give back to the community. I currently have been named as one of the Krewe of Vulcan Queen nominees for Birmingham’s Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball.

The crowning of King and Queen will be based on fundraising for Kid One Transport, a local non-profit that focuses on women and young children. Below is some more info about Kid One and how to "vote" and give back to those in need.

About Kid One Transport:

Kid One founded in 1997 for the purpose of providing children and expectant mothers with access to health care services throughout the state of Alabama. They serve the tens of thousands of children and expectant mothers across our state who are considered transportation disadvantaged.

How to "Vote":

If you would like to “vote” for me by supporting Kid One, please visit the fundraising site by clicking on this link..The winners of the Vulcan Krewe will be announced on March 4 during the Masquerade event.

Thank you all for your support!

How about a risk free purchase?

With all your daily duties already piling up, why stress yourself more with your vehicle purchase. Purchasing your vehicle should be enjoyable and comforting. That's why we provide the Adamson Ford CPO program.

Ask these simple questions before you buy any used vehicle.

1) Find out the details about the warranty being offered:

Find out who is behind the warranty coverage.

Adamson Ford's Certified Pre-Owned warranty coverage is manufacturer-backed, unlike others that may be backed by an independent or even offshore company.

Determine the length of the warranty coverage.

Adamson Ford's Certified Pre-Owned powertrain limited warranty coverage is for 6 years/100,000 miles.

Find out where the warranty will be honored.

Adamson Ford's Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty coverage is honored at any Ford, Lincoln or Mercury Dealership in the United States and Canada.

Is the warranty transferable to all future owners? Will there be a charge associated with such a transfer?

Our warranty is fully transferable to future owners at no cost, a resale benefit that can be transferred from owner to owner.

2). Find out what out-of-pocket expenses, such as a $100 deductible, will be covered if warranty work is needed on the vehicle.

All Adamson Ford CPO vehicles feature the following benefits in addition to covering certain aspects of the actual vehicle:

- Travel expense reimbursement of up to $500 for up to three days of lodging and meals
- Destination expense assistance of up to $75 to cover the emergency cost of a taxi, shuttle or rental car to get you to your destination
- Rental car reimbursement of up to $30 per day for up to five days if the vehicle requires overnight mechanical repairs
- 24-hour Roadside Assistance for the length of the powertrain limited warranty coverage

3) Ask about the inspection.

Who inspected the vehicle? Was it a factory-trained technician?

Ask to see the inspection reports on the specific vehicle you're interested in and determine what standards are used to certify a vehicle. What parts of the vehicle were inspected?

Were all of the items brought up to manufacturer specifications?

4). Ensure you see/receive the Vehicle History Report.

A Vehicle History Report is provided as part of the vehicle delivery process for every Adamson Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.

And if that doesn't beat a day at the spa, we are also offering 2.9% financing on all qualifing vehicles with approved credit!! For more information contact us at http://www.adamsonford.com/ or check us out on facebook!

Your Guide To Road Side Assistance

Hello everyone,

It seems that the long awaited Winter is upon us. With the recent weather changes and poor driving conditions we have had an overwhelming amount of calls regarding what to do if you are stranded. Below is a brief guide to the Ford Roadside Assistance Program that is included with your purchased vehicle. Please take a second to review the information and if you have any questions feel free to contact us at www.adamsonford.com.

Under this program, Ford will cover:

- Towing to the nearest Ford Motor Company dealership, or towing to your selling dealership if within 35 miles
- Flat tire change (vehicle must have usable spare)
- Fuel delivery (limited to two occurances in a 12-month period up to 2 gal. gas, 5 gal. diesel)
- Jump starts
- Lock-out assistance (replacement key cost is customer responsibility)
- Winching (vehicle must be within 100 feet of a paved or county-maintained road)

The Roadside Assistance Program is separate from the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. It begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years or 60,000 miles (whichever occurs first). If you need towing beyond the five years or 60,000 miles (whichever occurs first) period, Ford can arrange roadside assistance and charge your credit card unless the problem is covered by another Ford warranty. Ford will pay the tow charge under the other warranty.
For emergency roadside assistance, call 1-800-241-3673, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Newest Additions to the A-Team: A Former Pro Athlete and An Olympic Medalist

Two of the newest additions to our sales team are Frank Sanders and Mark Everett. Besides being talented athletes, our newest Team Adamson members both posess kindness, integrity and drive.

Meet Frank Sanders:

Frank (born February 17, 1973 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida), is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft. A 6'1", 207-lb. wide receiver from Auburn University, Sanders played in nine NFL seasons from 1995 to 2003. His peak performance in his career came during the 1998 season when he led the NFC in receptions with 89 for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns. Sanders previously was a host on JOX.

Meet Mark Everett:

Mark (born September 2, 1968 in Milton, Florida) was an American 800 metres runner who won the bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo. The following year Everett finished second in the US Olympic trials in New Orleans behind Johnny Gray. A few weeks later Everett beat Gray at the Bislett Games in Oslo, setting a new personal best of 1:43.40. Everett and Gray went to Barcelona as favourites for the gold and silver medals. However, Everett did not finish the race and Gray won the bronze behind William Tanui and Nixon Kiprotich. He attended the University of Florida.

One of his last achievements was a 4x400m relay gold medal at the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Fashion Trends Merge with Automobile Trends

Click here to read about Bold Color Trends for Spring/Summer: http://www.examiner.com/fashion-trends-in-birmingham/are-you-sold-on-going-bold-color-trends-for-spring-summer-2011
The perennially fabulous Mary Clayton Collins has written an article about bold color trends for the Spring/Summer seasons (see above link), which made us wonder: Will the bold color trend translate into purchases of look-at-me-colored automobiles?

We think so. See for yourself on our web site -- my favorites so far include the Red Candy Metallic Fiesta and the Grabber Blue Mustang V6. Stop by to find your bold spring/summer statement piece at 1922 2nd Avenue South.

Will you be rocking the bold color trend this summer with both your wardrobe and your ride??
